Physical Therapy
As a primary caregiver, a physical therapist can assess, diagnose, and treat your injury through a combination of methods that may include: manual therapy; manipulation; trigger point dry needling, various modalities; and/or exercise prescription. Education plays an important role in physical therapy. The goal of physical therapy is to return you to your optimal function and strength, while educating you about your injury. This allows you to independently maintain a healthy body without the constant supervision of a therapist
Movement Coaching
Movement coaches are trained specialist at assessment and optimization of movement that begins by systemically analyzing foundational patterns while taking into consideration physical and medical history. Intervention with the movement coach includes corrective exercise, behavior modification and additional programming to improve functional movement patterns.
Somatic Therapy
Somatic therapy is a form of body-centered therapy that looks at the connection of mind and body and uses both psychotherapy and physical therapies for holistic healing. In addition to talk therapy, somatic therapy practitioners use mind-body exercises and other physical techniques to help release the pent-up tension that negatively affects a patient’s physical and emotional wellbeing.
Practitioners of somatic therapy address what they see as a split between the body. Instead, they believe mind and body are intimately connected, though not always in apparent ways. Thought, emotions, and sensations are all believed to be interconnected and influence one another.
